What Does Independence Mean?
The technical definition of an Independent Financial Adviser is someone that cab advise across the whole market of investment products, not just a limited panel.
For us, it means much more than that.
The world never sits still. Financial markets shift, governments change, tax rules evolve, and regulations are always in flux.
For us, staying independent means we can adapt to a constantly evolving world.
We can be nimble, sensible, and always act with our clients’ best interests at heart.

No Hidden Agendas
We believe being independent isn't just about having access to the whole market of investment products.
Independence should always be about being total unbiased in our approach to looking after you.
This is why BlackBear Financial Group is directly authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
We aren't - and will never be - an outsourced representative of a larger company with their own ways of working that we're forced to adopt. We don't have to meet sales targets set by an office on the other side of the country, we can focus solely on what we believe is right for you.
This also makes us 100% accountable to everything that we do for you.

Where does our name "BlackBear" come from?
We get this question a lot - after all, bears aren’t something you’d normally associate with financial advice.
Our name connects directly to who we are.
Black bears are known for being independent and curious - qualities that reflect our approach as a truly independent advice firm. We're always open-minded when exploring your options.
Black bears can often be seen with their cubs, living as family units - a little nod to us as a family-owned business.
